Part 1 of 2: Healing from Covid Trauma This week on The Feds we are joined by (Ret.) Lt. Col. David Meece and his wife Jennifer. David served in the Army and Air Force for a total of 33 years, first as enlisted, and later as an officer. David and Jennifer shed light on the challenges they faced due to the COVID-19 mandate, and discuss David’s decision to stand firm on his convictions and refuse the shots on moral, ethical, and legal grounds. The decision not only ended his career, but it took a significant emotional and spiritual toll. Their story is one of struggle, but also of courage and inspiration. In addition to his story, we discuss the role advocacy plays with military promotion, the betrayal many military servicemen have experienced due to the COVID-19 mandates, and the subsequent trauma they have suffered.  David is a father of nine and husband to Jennifer, founder of Ebenezer Therapy Services. In this discussion, Charles Rixey, a former CBRN chief in the Marine Corps and DRASTIC member, dives into the controversial origins of SARS-CoV-2. He claims Dr. Fauci obscured critical information about the virus's genetic makeup and its ties to bioweapons research. Rixey highlights alarming evidence, including the role of HIV sequences in SARS-CoV-2 and the suppressed DEFUSE project, urging transparency from authorities. Advocating for accountability, he links vaccine development with potential manipulation, leaving listeners questioning the integrity of public health narratives.

Army Major Mandy Feindt joins The Feds this week. Mandy is one of 93,000 people impacted by the 2021 Red Hill Water Crisis while she was serving in a nominative position with Special Operations Command-Pacific and living in military housing in Hawaii.  In May and November of 2021, approximately 20,000 gallons of jet fuel leaked from the US Navy’s Red Hill Underground Bulk Fuel Storage Facility and contaminated the military’s drinking water system. These incidents caused thousands of military & civilian families, including Mandy’s one and three year old children, to get very sick and be evacuated from their homes for nearly 4 months.  Mandy had the conviction to speak up after observing the Navy’s mishandling of the crisis, particularly its lack of transparency, and failure to take precautionary measures to protect human health. Over the past 3 years, she has been a relentless advocate for clean water, accountability, and the health and safety of her children, fellow service members, military & civilian families, and native people of Hawaii impacted by this crisis. Chemicals of concern with the Red Hill water crisis are similar to that of Camp Lejeune, including: total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH), benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes, naphthalene, methylnaphthalenes, lead, and PFAS.  After making several forms of protected communication with senior military leadership, the DOD IG, and members of Congress, Mandy faced gross retaliation from Navy officials and her command team. She filed for DOD Whistleblower Protection in February 2022. To date, her case has still not been adjudicated.  Mandy is still serving on active duty but is currently in a “patient status” at the Fort Belvoir Soldier Recovery where she receives treatment for physical, mental, and moral injuries sustained from Red Hill. Episode 65: Joshua Macias: Can Veterans Be Made Whole Again? This week, The Feds podcast is joined by Joshua Macias, Navy veteran and founder of three organizations advocating for veteran needs, including housing. We discuss the ongoing epidemic of veteran PTSD (or, rather, PTSI  as he explains), suicide, and homelessness. Joshua talks about the contract between veterans and America, and how it has not been fulfilled. He hones in on the sense of betrayal that veterans and average American citizens may feel. Healing from these traumas, whatever form they may take, is achievable, and is the mission of Joshua and his organizations.  Following his honorable discharge from the Navy in 2002, Joshua had the same experience as many Veterans – he was a hardworking Veteran with a strong résumé, but no job.
