Learning from Survey Data

Data collection on workplace listening barriers revealed key insights from responses submitted by over 33,000 participants. Initially exploring frustrations and struggles regarding listening, the process evolved to include collaboration with experts to refine questions and enhance survey design. Through coding and analyzing free-text responses, common themes emerged, termed 'the villains of listening,' which highlighted specific barriers individuals face. This data-driven approach underscored the value of involving knowledgeable partners to gain actionable insights, ultimately leading to a better understanding of listening challenges.
