Ramu Damodaran began his career journey as a member of the Indian Foreign Service, representing his nation with distinction in Moscow and New York, and holding significant roles back home in Delhi.

His life took a pivotal turn in 1994 when he transitioned to a more permanent role within the United Nations, starting in the Department of Peacekeeping Operations during a time of rapid expansion due to numerous missions in the early 1990s.

With time, he found his calling in the Department of Global Communications, where he left a lasting imprint through his visionary leadership of the United Nations Academic Impact initiative.
