French sociomedical researcher Odile Fillod, who created the first 3D model of a clitoris, discusses the three types of female orgasm. They delve into the distinctions between clitoral and vaginal orgasms, challenging the idea of only one type of orgasm. Ongoing research on female pleasure and orgasmic disorders is emphasized.
The clitoris is the primary organ of female pleasure, with both external and internal components that can be stimulated for pleasure.
Research has identified three distinct types of female orgasms: wave-like contractions, tension-based volcano, and sustained avalanche contractions, shedding light on female pleasure experiences.

Understanding the Female Clitoris Anatomy
The primary female sexual pleasure organ is the clitoris, consisting of an external part with glands and a hood and a larger internal part extending into the vagina. The clitoris's glands contain numerous sensory receptors, making touch here particularly pleasurable. Additionally, the internal parts can be stimulated through pressure applied via the vagina using a finger, penis, or sex toy.
The Three Types of Female Orgasm
A study by researchers from Charles University in Prague identified three distinct types of female orgasm. The first type involves pelvic contractions resembling a wave, the second is characterized by pelvic tension and an upward motion like a volcano, and the third features sustained base contractions akin to an avalanche. Among the 54 women studied, the wave-like orgasm was the most common, experienced by 26 women, followed by the avalanche type (17 women) and the volcano type (11 women). This research sheds light on female pleasure and ongoing studies aim to deepen our understanding of female orgasms and address conditions like female orgasmic disorder.

Exploring the Three Types of Female Orgasm and Ongoing Research on Female Pleasure
While it remains a complex phenomenon, the female orgasm is becoming a focus of more and more medical studies. Back in 2016, French sociomedical researcher Odile Fillod created the first ever 3D model of a clitoris, changing the way we think about female pleasure. And since then, we've learned a fair amount more about the different possible types of orgasm that a woman can have.
We often talk about clitoral and vaginal orgasms! Is that really an accurate distinction? So are we saying there's only one type of orgasm then? In under 3 minutes, we answer your questions!
