But in the rarified world of actual foreign policy decision making and influence, the list drastically shortens to only a few names. Although not as famous as rival Henry Kissinger, Zbigniew Brzezinski’s term as chief foreign policy adviser to both Lyndon Johnson and Jimmy Carter marked him as a significant influencer during and after the Cold War era regarding enabling and extending America’s superpower status via realist and globalist politics.
