From Corporate Engineer to Successful Investor, Property Manager and Author - with Francis Fernando | TLS042

In this episode, Francis Fernando shares his journey that started in the corporate world as an engineer but he felt the pull to gain more control over his future. While still working his corporate job he started investing in real estate and built up a sizable portfolio of about 15 units. Between his busy career and personally managing his real estate portfolio, he struggled to keep up and he knew something had to change. Over the next 10 years, he left the corporate world, built a successful property management company, wrote a book on investing, grew his own personal portfolio and eventually sold his property management company.

Francis bought his first income property in 2003 with no formal training or experience in real estate. By 2006 he started a property management business that grew to operate 500 residential units and represented prestigious clients such as Wells Fargo, California National bank & US Bank. He is the author of a trademarked book titled "Job + Real
Estate = Wealth®" that serves as a guide to creating cashflow by understanding the nuts and bolts of income property – all while maintaining a full-time career. Today, after selling his property management business, Francis is a sought-after speaker at real
