- The Diary of a CEO is to hit the big screen - a special episode with former One Direction member Louis Tomlinson will get a world exclusive premier in six selected Cineworld cinemas in the UK and Ireland on Oct 8, a day before the podcast’s general release. Tickets are £14.99 (US$20) each. (The website appears to only work in Europe).
- Podcast cross-promotion company PodRoll has launched PodRoll Video Promos in Apple Podcasts - a way to add video promos as the second item in a podcast feed to help promote shows. It takes advantage of Apple’s support of video downloads. There’s an example here.
- SXSW Sydney has announced two dedicated stages for podcasting at the event, which takes place in mid October. There will be a number of live shows, and “Show Notes”, a podcast industry stage. (Podnews’s Editor will be there on Thursday).
- Meanwhile, at Advertising Week NYC next week, Paul Riismandel from Signal Hill Insights will be speaking, revealing whether podcasts really influence voters, as we move into a year with mid-terms in the US.
