Before I get into the podcast topic of what are you grateful for today, first I want to share some big news. Can you believe it’s already been three years since I started this podcast?

Over 200 Episodes!

Breathe Love & Magic PodcastI was quite surprised to find more than 200 episodes have been published! (I don’t number them so I lost track – LOL.) I’m having a moment of immense gratitude, especially with the Thanksgiving holiday in the US, just around the corner.

I truly appreciate each listener who has joined me weekly on this magical journey. When I hear from you, it fills my heart with joy and reminds me of the incredible listeners I have. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support and for embracing my suggestions and insights.

Now, in the spirit of gratitude, I want to dive into my personal gratitude practice—how I’ve simplified it and how you can incorporate it into your life.

The Art of the Gratitude Journal

Gratitude is more than a journaling exercise – it’s a way of life! Expressing your gratitude and writing about what you are grateful for today is a strong way to lift your spirits and vibration.

You want to get beyond simply listing what you appreciate—it’s about feeling the joy and optimism that gratitude inspires.

I noticed a significant change in my outlook when I started noting these small yet wonderful daily blessings in my gratitude journal.

So how do I do it? I write in the morning, capturing significant and everyday moments. Whether it’s the sunshine after a rain storm or a fun conversation with a friend, it’s important to recognize these smaller bits of joys.

By pushing yourself to appreciate new things consistently, your capacity for gratitude deepens. This simple gratitude practice can enhance and shift your life perspective remarkably.

Practice Gratitude Daily

gratitude practiceAnother step in my practice involves taking action and self-care—what I call filling my love tank.” It’s vital to acknowledge the actions you take daily and the ways you cherish yourself.

Anything positive can be self-care, from a day at the beach, or a call with a dear friend, to any activity that feeds your soul. These moments fill your self-care tank and enhance gratitude. Every day, jot down these actions that bring you joy alongside your gratitude list.

Don’t forget affirmations! At the bottom of my journal page, I write affirmations that reflect what I’m manifesting or aspiring toward in my life. These powerful statements act as reminders of the goals I’m working on. And, like gratitude, they help me maintain a positive outlook.

Share Gratitude with Others

what are you grateful for todaySharing gratitude with others can be profoundly connecting. Tell people in your life what you appreciate about them. Let them know why you’re grateful they are in your life. Acknowledging something little, even their smile or laugh, can lift someone’s spirit.

Every night, my husband and I share five things we’re grateful for before drifting off to sleep.

This bedtime ritual is not only a nice way to end our day positively, but also strengthens our bond. If you’re single, no worries! You can do this on your own or with your kids, or even your pet. The goal is to keep gratitude flowing.

What are you grateful for today. Take time to stop and think about it. Remember, you don’t need to strive for perfection in your practice. If you miss a few days, just be gentle with yourself. Gratitude practice isn’t meant to be another thing on your to-do list, but instead a joyful ritual.

Customize your gratitude to fit your lifestyle. Maybe a post it note on your bathroom mirror works better for you than a full journal entry. The key is to choose what resonates with you and keeps you engaged.

Expand Your Gratitude

If you’re having a tough day, try this go-to gratitude exercise. Write down 25 things you’re grateful for. Doing this shifts your focus to the abundance in your life. Once you start creating the list, you’ll find loads of options to include and appreciate.

Get more specific by including things you love about different rooms in your house, or broader themes such as gratitude towards your career or relationships.

This exercise helps shift your frequency to a higher vibration, unlocking more positivity and opening you up to future blessings. It’s a profound practice to ask what are you grateful for today, nurture your heart, and cultivate an appreciative mindset.

Thanksgiving and Gratitude

recognize the good that goes unnoticedThanksgiving is the time to embrace gratitude and shift your perspective if needed. Recognize the good that often goes unnoticed in your life. It’s always easy to see what’s lacking and going poorly.

However, when you spend time focusing on what’s working in your world, you put your attention on the positive. As you know from the Law of Attraction, like attracts like and what you put your attention on grows.

More than ever, the world needs more positive energy. When you consider – what are you grateful for today, you add to the positive energy that ripples out to everyone you come in contact with and then out to the world.
