In this episode, Rich and cohosts Dani Pettrey and Wendy Beck have a conversation with local authors Vashelle Nino, Diane Wylie, and Denise Stout.
Various authors employ distinct writing techniques, marketing tactics, and publishing methods. Our intention is to host a roundtable conversation to offer valuable tips and advice to aspiring and established authors. Similar roundtable discussions will be held with other authors, both established and aspiring.
Dani Pettrey, a Publishers Weekly and #1 Amazon bestselling author, has sold close to 800,000 copies of her novels. Her books offer a combination of thrilling suspense and satisfying romance, making them a hit with readers. Dani's novels are praised for their fast pace, engaging characters, and captivating storylines. She conducts her research on crime and violence from her residence in Maryland.
Wendy Beck founded Rage Against Addiction in Maryland to help families affected by addiction. The organization provides recovery housing, funding initiatives, kids discussions, and care packages for new mothers in recovery. Wendy promotes addiction education and works with other advocacy groups to raise awareness and erase stigma. She received a Shining Light Award for her efforts and is also the author of a children's book, Christmas Angel, in memory of her daughter who lost her battle with addiction on Christmas Day 2015.
Vashelle Nino is a Mexican-American former Army brat who has lived in nine U.S. states and abroad. Her diverse range of experiences has led to a strong interest in themes such as death, betrayal, motherhood, cultural identity, and the meaning of "home." Her stories often incorporate supernatural, religious, or natural world motifs. Vashelle is The Cinnabar Moth Literary Collections Author in Residence for 2021 and has three fiction short stories.
