I bet you’ve never heard of the LAW OF ACHIEVING YOUR GOALS. It’s a theory of mine, born from my tips and techniques for creating and leveraging a personal brand.
A Psychology Today article I found stated, As much as most people like to think of themselves as unique individuals, in reality, humans are social beings and for the sake of group cohesion, people are evolutionarily driven to fit in. That usually means copying the actions of others, looking to the group when deciding how to think or behave, or doing what is “expected” based on widely accepted (if often unspoken) social norms.
As a semi-successful (hee hee!) entrepreneur, I've found imitating others to be the WRONG move. I personally believe in INTERPRETING. Believe me I understand the desire to have what others have but, I think it's the way you get it that makes the difference in your longevity. The LAW OF ACHIEVING YOUR GOALS takes this into account.
The more people and brands I work with, the more I notice the propensity to IMITATE what others are doing. I STRONGLY disagree with this tactic because we are as unique as a snowflake. ALL strategies AREN’T created as equals. What works for one doesn’t work for all. INTERPRETING the action however, based on your personal framework, customizes the strategy and makes it work.
