A pernicious form of crazy making that I see in sexless marriages is that the sex denying partner is the victim rather than the one who is being denied the sex! How did this fairy story take hold and what personality dynamics are evident in the denier and the denied in this scenario? Also: how did the book The Women's Room, a feminist classic published in 1977, take the exactly opposite view than is currently espoused, where the woman being denied sex was the victim, and which one makes more sense to me as a marriage therapist?
