As the New Year starts, we may be exposed to the new trends marketed to help us kickstart our health. But we know that consistently doubling down on the fundamentals is the key to longevity.
Today on The Dhru Purohit Podcast, Dhru sits down with Professor Rose Anne Kenny to discuss the science of aging and the key factors that can help us age well. Professor Kenny shares her decades of research on aging and tests that can help us identify if we are aging optimally. She also discusses the importance of consistently focusing on resistance training, diet, exposure to nature, and community.
Professor Kenny reminds us that we are not all doomed and that 80% of how we age is based on the habits and fundamentals we engage in daily. If you want motivation and inspiration to hone in on simple changes we know are tried and true, this episode is for you.
Rose Anne Kenny holds the chair of medical gerontology at Trinity College Dublin and St. James’s Hospital and is director of Mercer’s Institute for Successful Aging. Before her present appointment, Kenny held the chair of cardiovascular research at the University of Newcastle, where she was head of academic and clinical departments of medical gerontology for 12 years.
