Yet when hurt and disappointment show up, it's hard to move forward with a smile.
There are days you want to settle in and do nothing.
Now there is nothing wrong with doing nothing. But how you feel and the ditch you continue to dig for yourself can be challenging to escape.
Instead of enjoying the hot days, you sit around complaining about which is the right way.
The K.I.S.S. ~ With every breaking comes a new beginning!My son and I were doing some manual labor yesterday afternoon which required strength, persistence, and patience.
We did pretty well overall, but there were still some areas that we wanted to rush through and call it a day.
However, when you are pruning trees to clear your rooftop, windows, and pergola of drooping branches, there comes a point where you want it all done.
In fact, you try to convince yourself to quit early. Who wants these big 4, 6, or 8-inch thick branches falling on top of you leaving scrapes on your skin, woodchips in your hair, and dead leaves everywhere?
Life is not always about relaxation and beauty. Life takes work. Life requires you to see what you don't like, but understand your goals to keep moving forward.
As we approached the last tree in the front yard, both of us were exhausted. Equally, we both wanted to stop. But you probably can guess how that worked for us?
In a moment of deep exhalation, we took a break to see how far we still needed to go in order to finish the project.
What stood out most was how beautiful it looked. No more dead limbs to distract your eyes. All you were drawn to was the enchanting 100-year-old oak tree standing in its magnificent glory.
With every breaking comes a new beginning.
You may not like the pruning that is happening to you. Your patience might be running a little thin because of your circumstances.
But when the heaviness fades and the day seems brighter, that's where you begin to turn up the corners of your mouth. Yes, a smile is on the horizon.
So don't despair when your body is slumped in a chair. Whether lost or broken, tired or frustrated, ready yourself for the blessings before you.
God creates your day filled with little blessings, but you have to be aware to notice them.
Take what's broken and be eager for the blessing.
With every breaking comes a new beginning.
