This episode features Nita Butler who has personal experiences of transitioning from event planning to brand strategy to going back to school to become an HR professional. She shared so many great transition ideas:
· Networking (even for introverts) can be made easier if you remember, what is the worst that can happen, the person does not respond – in which case, they are probably the wrong person anyway.
· The value in being a part of organizations to help in your transition.
· Don’t feel pressured to be someone you are not.
· The need to do what is right for you.
· Transitions are tiring – be kind to yourself – treat it like a job – but don’t let it take over your life.
· Getting to know what you don’t like is as important as knowing what you do like.
Nita had so many great thoughts and suggestions. My favorite thought that I wrote down and have it posted on my computer is, “Don’t be afraid to change, it is ok to be uncomfortable, good things can come from that point.”
I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I did.
