In my first 5 years of practice, I saw the words "sales & marketing" as dirty words that carried the perception that I was slimy. During those 5 years, I did alright in business, but not amazing. After seeing friend and family seek care from doctors who charged more than me and weren't as trusted as "family" I decide that the way I conveyed my message to the public about how I could help them needed to change.
I came to terms that people will only find my assistance if I figured out how to communicate my value and expertise better. Now my practice is much busier, I see highly motivated people within my client base and get paid exactly what I want to be paid for my time.
