Bio

Dr. Matthew Facciani is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Notre Dame, working in the computer science and engineering department. He holds a PhD in sociology from the University of South Carolina and has held previous positions as a lecturer at Vanderbilt University. His research focuses on media literacy, political polarization, misinformation, and social networks. Dr. Facciani's forthcoming book, Misguided: Where Misinformation Starts, How It Spreads, and What to Do About It, will be published by Columbia University Press. He actively shares his work on social media, including Threads, LinkedIn, and his personal website, matthewfacciani.com.
