All too often we place our dreams and goals on a pedestal, out of reach. We set too high expectations for ourselves and get discouraged along the way.
Some important concepts:
- The main reasons why we procrastinate are: too high expectations and perfectionism; fear of failure and rejection; being an end-to-start planner
- To overcome this, one of the best methods is to: break down the big goal into small achievable steps. Each small step contributes to incremental progress.
- Changing your self-talk to understand your thought patterns and beliefs can also make a huge difference!
- Having an accountability partner sometimes is the missing piece of the puzzle! It can be game-changing in terms of motivation, and ongoing progress!
By acknowledging that you do have a dream you aspire to and putting in place daily actions towards it: you transform your dream into a project and then it can become reality!
