Brady Howe on the Power of Soft Skills in Leadership and Athletic Development

Aug 27, 2021

Brady Howe has had many titles throughout his career.

He has been an athletic trainer, strength coach, and equipment manager for various institutions and teams, including the Utah Flash, Weber State University, the Salt Lake City Stars, the Idaho Stampede, the Atlanta Hawks, and the Phoenix Suns.

But the common threads that run through these are his love for basketball and his desire to uplift others.

Today, as the Senior Director of Health & Performance for the Phoenix Suns, Brady is driven not only to serve athletes and help them grow, but to empower the people around him in reaching their full potential.

Brady joins me today to discuss the role of soft skills in leadership and athletic development.

He shares his journey to becoming the Senior Director of Health & Performance of the Phoenix Suns and discusses how trusting others in his team helps him manage his responsibilities.

He explains why basketball will always be his first love and why the sport is a family to him.

And he also underscores why young people who aspire to be coaches need to face adversities and highlights the impact of culture on athletic development.

Leadership is about empowering others and showing that you believe in them. Find the best way to empower them and give them creative opportunities to maximize their potential. – Brady Howe
