At the start of a relationship, a lot of men dive headfirst into meeting every need the other person has. There's nothing inherently wrong with that, but when you combine it with cultural messaging that seems to say men shouldn't express (or even have) their own needs in a relationship, it prevents both parties from getting to really know each other.
