Jemele opens up about her journey from a tomboy kid reading her local newspaper, to becoming the only female Black sports journalist for a daily paper in all of North America. She and Donny then discuss why Jemele thinks journalism has become an elitist trade, how the goal posts move when it comes to the hiring of Black coaches in the NFL, and the rise of athletes like Naomi Osaka and Simone Biles taking agency over their lives and putting their mental health first.
