The Southern Hemisphere’s top competition is stunning to watch. But we can do more to replicate that with our own training? Dan Cottrell talks to the experienced academy coach George Tavner who works with the some of the best young players in the English system, from ages 13 upwards.
He says that:
- Super Rugby is a fantastic spectacle and we can always learn from it.
- The UK game is different, and explains why.
- The move towards game-based training is making players more skillful and better decision-makers.
- We still need to balance skills training, but can do it with better organisation and less stoppages in training. Listen to his methods and thoughts on how you can improve your players’ training diet.
