Whenever I do sales training for businesses like yours, large and small, one of the things I like to stress is that the person talking isn't learning anything. Everything you say, you already know. That’s true for me and for all of you. While we might occasionally come up with new phrasing or a new twist on an idea, we still started with the underlying knowledge. The only way we can learn something new is by listening. That, of course, means asking better questions, and really listening to the answers (which will sound familiar to any of you who have read my sales books).
