The subject of this particular video clip on the Rooftop Rally Point series is, “Battle Buddies: Getting Out of Your Own Way”.

I thought telling the story of my Ranger Buddy, Cliff would be very appropriate because Cliff taught me the importance of Battle Buddies. Cliff became my dear friend and we lost Cliff in the Pentagon on 9/11, 2001.

Yeah, he was my Ranger buddy, but in other units that are not Rangers, they call that one person that looks out for you and you look out for them your, “Battle Buddy”. It serves a range of things both in peacetime and in combat. You always check in on your battle buddy. That way, no one gets left behind.

So, join me by the firepit and let’s talk about how, "Battle Buddies" can help you get out of your own way.
