I got this wrong. I ended up speaking with Dr Porges (episode 15) and got some clarity on the use of the words "freeze" and "shutdown". There's a big difference. Listen to the "Shutdown" episode in episode 104 for more. I'm leaving this here because I think it's still valuable, just like all of 101-109; also for posterity, I suppose. But this information has been updated.
