Flowing with Thoughts and Feelings
Instead of resisting our thoughts and feelings like trying to stop a river's flow, it is more beneficial to flow with them. By guiding them gently, we can influence their direction without trying to halt them. Understanding that thoughts and feelings are natural flows, we can observe their birth, lifetime, and disappearance. This practice allows us to navigate our perceptions with awareness, leading to a sense of peace and control.
Sun of Awareness and Meditation
Meditation is described as illuminating the river of thoughts and feelings with the sun of awareness. Through meditation, we observe the dual nature of the flowing self and the illuminating awareness. The analogy of light and color illustrates the interconnectedness of the self and its perceptions. The practice of meditation fosters peace by allowing thoughts and feelings to flow naturally, leading to serenity and self-illumination.
