(70) How to Fall In Love With The Process

As a result-oriented person, I can understand the impatience that comes with the process. Sometimes, we can dislike the journey because we are so eager to reach the end goal. There are a few reasons why this is not satisfying in the long run. Firstly, we rarely stop to celebrate goals before we rush to set new ones. Secondly, goals are achieved in a brief moment in time so the enjoyment does not last. Finally, the process is all we ever have.

Five key tips to make the process more enjoyable:

  • Look at processes you already enjoy and learn what it is about them that is enjoyable!
  • Gamify your work and keep it fun to ensure that you have momentum and enjoy it – this makes it a lot more likely to enter flow!
  • Track your progress, using a habit tracker, or any form of tracking.
  • Reward yourself for your milestones in the journey
  • Turn your dislike into like by using an NLP technique.

There are many ways that we can use to make the journey more enjoyable. It is essential to have this type of perception as we are happier and more productive as we go about reaching our goals!

I’ve been using Snipd for about a year and this app has been life changing. I listen to about 17 hours of podcasts a week and I want to take notes on 95% of them. Snipd makes it so easy to do. I can triple click my headphones and record a snip. The app also improves rapidly which is welcomed. It’s an easy subscription for me to pay.
