As a leader you have a responsibility to hold a space for everyone in your team! In this conversation Shelley speaks with Brenda Harrington, founder of Adaptive Leadership Strategies, about the structural barriers that exist in many workplaces and how they prevent equity around opportunity.
Brenda shares her experience working with clients and how we can address equity at different leadership levels. The big question to consider is, "is our team a reflection of the clients we serve?". If it's not then do we truly appreciate their needs and preferences - are we in service to all or just those that fit the people we employ?
This is a great conversation to consider what can to be done around roles that still lack diversity and how organisations might benefit by opening themselves up to new perspectives.
Recognise the difference between diversity and true inclusion and make both a priority. Start to notice what’s missing…it’s time to fill the void.
