What Does It Mean To Calm Your Breath and How Do You Do It? with Todd Steinberg
Take a moment to pay attention to how you are breathing. Are you taking deep breaths or are your breaths shallow? Are your shoulders relaxed or are they lifted and tense? Shallow breathing can increase your heart rate while also making you vulnerable to a fight or flight situation. Deep breathing, on the other hand, can help reduce your heart rate and allow you to relax and feel more control over your thoughts and behaviors.
