The insights shared underscore the interconnectedness of sleep quality, brain function, and overall well-being.
Lactate as Brain Fuel
Lactate, often associated with exercise-induced sore muscles, is revealed to be a preferred fuel for the brain. The lactate shuttle not only provides brain fuel but also increases vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and brain-derived neurotrophic factor, enhancing neuroplasticity. Exercise intensity plays a crucial role in utilizing lactate effectively for brain function.
Blue Light and Melatonin Regulation
Exposure to natural blue light in the morning triggers the release of melatonin, aiding in circadian rhythm regulation and promoting deep restorative sleep. Ensuring exposure to blue light in the morning and early bedtime aligns with the body's natural sleep cycles, enhancing sleep quality and overall health.
