Interpretations of the Moon Splitting

Classically, scholars had three major views on the interpretation of the moon splitting incident described in the Quran. Conversely, the second view argues that the event symbolizes a future occurrence on Judgment Day, employing past tense rhetoric to highlight impending events. Lastly, the third, albeit less common opinion, suggests that the moon splitting serves as a figurative expression symbolizing clarity, akin to English phrases like 'the cat's out of the bag,' emphasizing the idea of things becoming evident.
