The Brutal Attack and Murder of Jana Murray

On March 11, 2011, a violent attack took place at a Lululemon store in Bethesda, Maryland. Jana Murray, an employee at the store, was brutally murdered while her coworker, Brittany Norwood, survived the assault with superficial injuries. The attack occurred after Jana confronted Brittany about stolen merchandise, leading to a fight in which Jana was beaten with various objects and stabbed. After the attack, Brittany staged the crime scene to make it appear as a robbery gone wrong. However, extensive forensic analysis and evidence presented at trial pointed to Brittany as the sole perpetrator of the assault. She was ultimately found guilty of first-degree murder and sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.
