Wes McGuinness is a Petty Officer and Elite Sportsman, representing the Royal Navy in Powerlifting. In 2017, he was the first person within the British Armed Forces to be selected to represent England at the Commonwealth Powerlifting Championship’s in South Africa, coming away with two silver medals and a bronze medal. In 2019, he represented Great Britain at the Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Sports Festival Championships held in Barcelona, Spain 2019.  

In 2021, he represented Team GB at the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) World Bench Press Championships in Lithuania. Following his performance at the Worlds, he went on to represent Team GB again and represent his country at the IPF European Championships in Hungary, finally finishing the year with an invitation to the IPF Commonwealth Powerlifting Championships. In 2022, Wes suffered an horrific injury during competition, tearing his biceps completely off the bone...
