It's that time of the year where you're invited to all these work events and so many people have written in to share that they feel anxious thinking of the prospect of making work-appropriate conversation or small talk. In this episode, Crystal & Dr. Greg Lim-Lange share their top advice on connecting better with others with Logos, Ethos and Pathos (Logic, Credibility and Emotions) and some handy tips on how to be more memorable and interesting.

Key tips:

1.  Everyone is focused on themselves more than they are focused on you so you may think you look nervous but most people don't notice
2.  Be interested to be interesting - read more and be able to have opinions on diverse topics
3.  Use metaphors and visual language
4.  Tell stories about the interesting problems you and your team solved recently
5.  Ask evocative questions - What has been the highlight of this week? What personal passion project are you working on?
6.  Ask for specific easy to give advice - What's your recommendation for places to eat around your workplace - What advice would you wish you had when you were starting out in this industry?
7.  Reference / brand yourself in relation to your 3 highest values
