On this episode of The Born Primitive Podcast, Bear and Tony discuss how Facebook founder and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently penned a letter to the House Judiciary Committee, outlining his regrets about his platforms’ response to COVID-19. Written in response to an investigation into content moderation online, Zuckerberg explained that they faced pressure from the White House regarding censorship. He wrote, “I believe the government pressure was wrong, and I regret that we were not more outspoken about it. I feel strongly that we should not compromise our content standards due to pressure from any Administration in either direction — and we’re ready to push back if something like this happens again.”
He also expressed regrets for suppressing news related to the story involving information found on Hunter Biden’s laptop, stating, “It’s since been made clear that the reporting was not Russian disinformation, and in retrospect, we shouldn’t have demoted the story.”
