It's important to acknowledge the past, learn from it, and then actively work towards a brighter future.
However, don't be too quick to dismiss your past. Your past has lessons that need to be understood and situations that need to be addressed. Deal with the past so you can be present in your everyday.
According to a study conducted by the American Psychological Association, individuals who dwell excessively on past events are more likely to experience higher levels of stress, anxiety, and depression. This constant rumination can lead to a cycle of negative thinking that inhibits personal growth and happiness.
Once you have the past dealt with in the best way possible that points you in the direction of well-being, then you can take steps to move forward.
Dr. Rebecca Ray, a psychologist specializing in cognitive behavioral therapy, explains, "Our past can provide valuable lessons for the future, but when we fixate on it, we risk missing out on the opportunities and experiences that await us in the present moment. It's essential to strike a balance between reflecting on the past and actively engaging with the present."

3. Seek Support: Reach out to trusted friends, family members, or mental health professionals, counselors, and coaches for guidance and encouragement. Building a support system can provide valuable insights and help individuals gain perspective on their past experiences.
