Deep dives
Setting up Voxer coaching as a pop-up program
Voxer coaching is an alternative coaching method that offers asynchronous communication through the Voxer app. The host decided to offer Voxer coaching during the summer months as a pop-up program, allowing participants to submit a question each week, to which she would respond with a voice memo on Voxer. This format provided flexibility and convenience for both the coach and participants, as they could engage in the coaching process at their own pace and on their own time.
Structuring and managing the Voxer coaching program
The Voxer coaching program consisted of a 12-week duration with 11 spots available. Participants were required to submit their questions between Monday and Wednesday, and the coach would reply by end of day Friday. To ensure clear communication, the coach emphasized the importance of participants highlighting their main questions and keeping updates and context concise. The use of Voxer as the communication platform allowed for simplicity and ease, without the added pressure of video calls. Additionally, the coach provided options for participants to form small groups within Voxer to engage in discussions and support each other.
Pricing and logistics of Voxer coaching
The price for Voxer coaching varied from year to year, with discounts offered to existing members of the host's community. Payments were made on a three-month recurring basis. The 12-week duration of the program was found to be ideal by participants, providing enough time to make substantial progress while avoiding overwhelm. The coach maintained clear boundaries by setting submission and response deadlines and reinforcing the use-it-or-lose-it policy for weekly questions. In terms of logistics, the coach used Notion as a central hub for program information, tracked participation, and saved all program-related communications. Overall, Voxer coaching proved to be a valuable and effective coaching method for both the coach and participants.
I'm so excited to bring you a listener submission today from Renee Rubin Ross about my summer Voxer coaching pop-up. I've done these two summers in a row now, and I've learned so much every subsequent time. In this episode, I’ll share the structure, systems, and pricing that help me create a joyful asynchronous program that keeps our calendars free of “tiny boxes” (as my friend Sarah calls them).

🌟 3 Key Takeaways
Structure: Cohorts are nice so that you can make yourself energetically available (and make extra space on your calendar for replying) for the program duration. Ask participants to put their one question for the week in big blinking lights! Ideally as text underneath their voice memo (Voxer caps memos at 15 minutes, which is a good thing!)
Systems: Create a “how this works” program overview page that participants can reference throughout the program. Keep a participant tracker where you note their question and your answer each week, so you don’t repeat yourself (and so you can easily reference resource links that another participant might ask about later).
Pricing: Offer your current active, paying clients and community members the first chance at enrollment and at a discounted rate. I also grandfather in their pricing for life.
