According to the ancient Greeks, there are seven types of love that actually fall into different categories. Those Greeks really were amazing scholars and philosphers weren’t they? We still refer to their work today!

This one’s all about attraction, chemistry, butterflies in the stomach—classic romantic love. Think gazing into each other’s eyes, sparks flying, and that intoxicating, can’t-get-enough feeling.

2. Ludus – Flirty, Playful Love
That fun, teasing, early-stage romance kind of love. The fiery spark, the playful texts, the inside jokes. But watch out—sometimes this is just a “flash in the pan” love that burns out fast!

3. Pragma – Enduring Love
This is the long-haul, mature love that we all hope Eros turns into. It’s the deep, steady connection that weathers life’s ups and downs—growing old together, hand in hand.

“Brotherly love”—let’s call this sisterly love! It’s the unbreakable bond of close friendships, built on trust, support, and loyalty.

5. Storge – Family Love
The deep, unconditional love between parents, children, and family members. This love is woven into your DNA—it can be there for life.

6. Philautia – Self-Love
The foundation of a happy life. Loving yourself means prioritizing your well-being, setting boundaries, and treating yourself with kindness and care.

7. Agape – Unconditional Love
Pure, selfless love given without expecting anything in return. This is the love of humanity—acts of kindness, charity, and deep empathy.

8. Love for Pets & Animals
That unspoken bond with our furry (or feathery or scaly) friends. Pets love us unconditionally, and we love them right back!

9. Love for Passion & Work
The joy of doing what you love, whether it’s a career, hobby, or art. This love fuels creativity, purpose, and fulfillment.

10. Love of Learning
For the lifelong seekers, this love drives curiosity, exploration, and growth. It’s the thrill of discovering something new.

11. Love of Nature & the Earth
A deep connection to the planet, from awe at a sunset to the responsibility to protect the environment. This love is grounding and soul-nourishing.

12. Spiritual Love
A love for God, the Universe, or your spiritual path. Spiritual love brings you peace, meaning, and a sense of belonging.

When I started my journey to find love, I began with the idea that I had love energy within me, but I figured it was stagnant. That’s why my objective was to get my love energy moving again!
