"Eating You Alive" is a new documentary film that examines why so many Americans are getting and staying sick, and explores whether there's any correlation to the kinds of foods they eat on a daily basis. The film also incorporates expert opinions from doctors and perspectives from several high-profile celebrities that believe one specific lifestyle change -- choosing whole, plant-based foods over animal products -- could be the solution.

Meet Dr. Evan Allen

 

Dr. Evan Allen is an internationally recognized, award-winning Family Practice physician. Despite decades of experience, he continues to seek out the latest scientific findings and incorporate them into his medical practice, to the benefit of his patients. He is highly regarded by both patients and colleagues as a knowledgeable and personable doctor, and has received numerous awards over his lifetime of achievement.

 

In 2011, Doctor Evan Allen was diagnosed with hepatic steatosis (an increased buildup of fat in the liver — also known as fatty liver). Thus began his research studying various foods and their effects upon the body. His research confirmed his theory that some foods promote disease while other foods heal. He changed his diet. After six months, he lost 50 lbs. The fatty liver was gone, and the cough and wheezing he had suffered daily dissipated. Since his personal discovery, his passionate pursuit of excellent health via good nutrition has never waned. He has taken extensive additional training in lifestyle medicine and is a member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM). He will be taking the exam for the American Board of Obesity Medicine in December 2016. He takes pride in providing education and support to his patients and celebrates with them the resulting improvement in their health.
