In this episode, Dane Hill interviews Rich Beck about his experience as Vice President of Investment and Asset Management of Restore Utah - a real estate investment firm which seeks the nexus between enhancing communities by providing quality affordable housing for low and moderate income families and earning an acceptable return for its investors.
During the episode, we discuss the transition of working with Goldman Sachs to acquire over 500 single family residential homes to moving into the multi-family value-add investing space and some of the challenges and opportunities they've experienced along the way.
Rich Beck is the Vice President of Investment and Asset Management for Restore Utah where he underwrites investments, reports on the acquisition activity, and oversees the properties in an asset management role. Rich’s background includes experience in the real estate and financial services industries. Prior to joining the team, Rich worked for Orion Management Group where he managed the operations of a $10M real estate fund, oversaw the development of additional units, and effectively listed several apartment complexes. Rich holds a B.A. in Business Management from the Marriott School at Brigham Young University and is a candidate for his Master in Real Estate Development from the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah.
