Deep dives
Friends letdowns
There have been a few friends who disappointed me after my child was born. One friend even tried to convince my bridesmaids to convince me not to marry my husband the night before our wedding. It was heart-breaking and I had to confront her about it. She admitted to it, but we are no longer friends.
Degenerative eye disease
I have a degenerative eye disease that has caused permanent vision loss in my left eye and temporary vision loss in my right eye. It has been a humbling experience and I have had to come to terms with the possibility of losing my vision. However, since becoming pregnant, I haven't had any episodes, and I am grateful for that.
Parenthood and friendships
Parenthood has taught me the importance of choosing genuine and supportive friends. I have learned to distinguish between true friends who are there for me and those who are not. It has made me value the friends who have been there for me during this journey.
Appreciating the present
Having faced challenges with my health and parenting, I have learned to appreciate each day and cherish every moment with my family. I am grateful for the time I have to see my children grow and experience the world around them.
