Episode 15: Journaling for Anxiety Relief
Today’s episode is one that I think we all need from time to time.
We’re talking about journaling for anxiety relief—how writing can calm an anxious mind, help you get perspective, and create space for peace.
If your heart feels a little tight…
If your thoughts are racing…
Or if you’re just carrying more than your nervous system knows what to do with…
You’re not alone. And your journal can help.
We’re going to talk about how and why journaling helps with anxiety, and then I’ll guide you through a gentle, simple journaling exercise you can come back to anytime you need to release some of that inner tension.
I want to leave you with a few gentle truths—ones I often come back to in my own journaling when I’m feeling anxious:
- You don’t have to solve everything right now.
- God is not asking you to carry it alone.
- Not every thought you think is true.
- This moment is hard, but it won’t last forever.
- You are not your anxiety.
- There is peace available, even in the middle of uncertainty.
- You’re doing better than you think.
Set aside time for a 10-minute “anxiety release” journaling session.
Use the prompts we just walked through:
- What’s on my heart right now?
- What can I control today?
- God, here’s the truth I want to remember from You…
You might even write these on a sticky note or tape them into your journal as a reminder.
