The Joel Evan Show 055. The New Model For Addiction Recovery: Overcoming Addiction Without Shame & Rules - Dr Adi Jaffe
On this week's episode, I am blessed to have interviewed Dr Adi Jaffe, author of The Abstinence Myth: A New Approach For Overcoming Addiction Without Shame & Judgement. I got a chance to see Dr Jaffe in action at the Biohacking Congress event in Silicon Valley in March and he had one of the best presentations of the entire conference.
Dr Jaffe shared his experience of being a meth addict in his early twenties to then turning his life around and later getting a Phd in psychology. He lectured in the UCLA Psychology department for the better part of a decade and was the Executive-Director and Co-Founder of one of the most progressive mental health treatment facilities in the country - until he started IGNTD.
Dr. Jaffe, through IGNTD, is changing the way people think about, and deal with mental health issues. His passion in the role of shame destroying lives is the philosophy behind IGNTD Recovery and its aim to greatly reduce the stigma of addiction and mental health.
I learned that 96% of people fail in addiction recovery from traditional programs. Dr Jaffe is changing that with IGTND using a method called adaptive treatment protocols. Tune into the podcast to learn more about Dr Jaffe and some of his methods that are yielding amazing results.
