Being triggered is different than being uncomfortable or annoyed. When we are truly triggered, we are brought to a place in the past when we were traumatized in some way (Big or little t) and we lose ability to control our reactions. Although triggers are normal and nothing to be ashamed of, the more awareness we practice around them the more freedom we have to affect our responses to life. No one wants to be a reacting machine. We want space to have control over the one thing we have control over in this life: our own behavior. This starts by being aware of our triggers, why we have them, and what to do in order to unmask and see them. Join me for a great discussion on triggers, partially first aired last summer as part of the summer series. I am learning new things about myself all the time, and I Invite you to do the same. XOOXO n.
