The Complete Guide to Endurance Training, with Dr. Scott McGeary PT, DPT, CSCS, SCS
In this episode of the Brawn Body Health and Fitness Podcast, Dan is joined by Dr. Scott McGeary PT, DPT, CSCS, SCS to discuss all things relating to endurance training. The two discuss the 80-20 principle, balancing overall training volume, cadence, cross training, the importance of strength training as an endurance athlete, ultramarathon/triathlon training, and so much more!
Scott McGeary grew up in the Harrisburg area, beginning his love for running and fitness while attending Central Dauphin East HS. He completed his undergraduate and graduate studies at Duquesne University while competing on the cross country and track teams, which further fueled his passion for running and the treatment of runners in healthcare. Since graduation in 2012, he has made it his personal mission to establish a community of healthcare providers devoted to efficient and excellent care of the runners while he continues to train and race competitively, himself. Aside from treating runners, he enjoys treating all athletes, as well as patients with low back/neck pain, and other general orthopedic injuries, evidenced by his completion of the McKenzie Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment curriculum.
Scott is a Sports Certified Specialist through the American Physical Therapy Association and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
