HIIT is not necessarily going to work for EVERYONE š¤Æ - especially if you are already training quite a bit!
Rune wants you to understand that a lot of HIIT studies and data points have lacked a āloadā matched comparison; thus it is uncertain whether HIITās effects are down to simply ātraining with higher loadā (or something, because often ātotal workā or time has been used for matching - but that aināt enough!). It goes so far that it may be that some individuals might ONLY need a couple of WEEKS during their tapering phase to get enough high level HIIT in.
In the 78th episode of The Training Science Podcast, Paul and Rune discuss:
ā·ļø EVERYTHING that is current cutting-edge in cross-country skiing;
š¤ How HIIT is unlikely to be the ābe all and end allā workout type (Yes, we are STILL HIIT SCIENCE! š);
š What to do with āunderperformanceā and/or overtraining?
