Decluttering the Holiday Schedule
During the holidays, a busy schedule often leads to clutter. Neglecting decluttering efforts and routines can halt progress and result in chaos. The pressure to attend parties, give gifts, and maintain traditions can overwhelm us. To regain peace and joy, it is essential to accept that we cannot do everything. Prioritizing activities that truly matter and challenging societal expectations allows us to create meaningful memories. By letting go of less important tasks and focusing on the important ones, we can maintain a peaceful holiday schedule.
Questioning 'I Have To' Mentality
Watch out for the words 'I have to' and question their validity during the holidays. Most of the time, we have a choice. It is important to challenge ourselves and let go of the 'supposed to's and societal pressures. Striving for quality over quantity, we can choose activities that align with our values and bring us joy. By being present in the things we deem important, we can avoid stress and overwhelm, and have a more peaceful and meaningful holiday season.

Episode 2947: Declutter the Holiday Schedule With These 3 Simple Steps by Rachel Jones of Nourishing Minimalism on Staying Calm During the Holidays
Rachel started her journey to minimalism in 2008, struggling with depression and horribly embarrassed by the messy state of her home.
Her goal for pursuing minimalism was to find contentment and joy in spending time with family and being able to focus on Christ. What she found was that minimalism wasn’t the answer. But it is a tool to use to help you focus on what’s important.
Her mission is to help others turn their home into their own personal oasis.
Having found an immense amount of freedom with minimalism, it's her goal to share the methods of simplifying and the tools that she had to rely on (and still does!) to maintain a home that is easy to take care of and a joyful space to live.
