We talk to a lot of multi talented creators on this show, but this week’s guest might just take the cake. From YouTube creator to rapper, wrestler, and Magic The Gathering extraordinaire, it’s tough to put all of his accomplishments on paper. This week, he’s entering The Create Unknown to tell us all how William “The Fridge” Berry became the famed Billy The Fridge.

We start off by talking about the state of The Fridge now, Billy’s prospects for 2023, and how his “roll with the punches” attitude really works to his benefit. Billy also lets us in on his process for choosing new projects, and it might not be what you think.

It’s no secret that Billy’s an entertaining guy, and it certainly helps that he got his start so early in life. He tells us about his early days of entertaining and how that molded him into the sensation he is today. We also get a peek at the humble beginnings of his rap career, and how a fine establishment called The Lusty Lady helped skyrocket him to the top.

Then we take a little trip to Walmart, where Billy went viral for carrying a child around in a makeshift papoose. He tells us about all the hype and concern that video generated, and about how it landed him a spot in the esteemed People of Walmart coloring book.

We also take a little time this episode to discuss some current events. We respond to the outrage of Mr. Beast’s blindness curing video, and Billy gives us his perspective on the whole situation.

There’s no doubt that “Billy The Fridge” is an iconic name. When you hear that, you remember it. We get to the bottom of where that name came from, and how William Berry became as iconic as his pirate namesake.

We finish out the episode by talking a little Magic: The Gathering, and how sheets of cardboard kept Billy off of the drug-filled streets of 1990s Seattle. While Kurt Cobain was out doing drugs and writing “In Utero,” Billy studied the card, and he’s better because of it.

Thanks to everyone who joined us live, and a special shoutout to our patrons who make this show happen each and every week. You guys are the best. We’ll be back next Tuesday for the return of AltHistoryHub!
