I posted a video recently about how my wife reached for the check on our first date—and how much that meant to me. EVEN THOUGH I still paid, the fact that she didn’t just expect me to cover it said a lot about her character. But apparently, that hit a nerve.

The comment section BLEW UP with people arguing, some saying a “real man” should always pay, others saying it should be split, and some just straight-up mad at the idea of a woman reaching for the check at all. 

So, in today’s episode, I want to break this down. Why do people get so triggered over this? Does paying for dinner define masculinity? What does this actually say about expectations in modern relationships?
