Ahmet Polat is fotograaf en filmmaker. Zijn werk was onder andere te zien in het Rijksmuseum en Stedelijk Museum, hij maakte meerdere fotoboeken en won de ICP Infinity Award. Bij het grote publiek werd hij bekend als Fotograaf des Vaderlands en met zijn vaste fotorubriek in ‘Buitenhof’. Hij is oprichter van Stichting Studio Polat en sinds 2023 hoofdredacteur bij HUMAN. Nu is de theatrale foto-expositie 'Meer dan duizend woorden' te zien: een reisverslag over zijn leven tegen de achtergrond van historische gebeurtenissen.
