Getting Comfortable with Uncomfortable Race Conversations featuring Natalie Haynes
In this episode, Andryanna sits down with Natalie Haynes to look at getting comfortable with uncomfortable race conversations.
Natalie is a corporate connection consultant, educator, speaker and psychotherapist. She is also the creator behind “The Comfortable Race Conversation Process” which has been included in the Government of Canada’s, 50-30 Challenge and leads individuals through an experiential process to learn how to have uncomfortable conversations about race with other races.
This interview includes:
- what it means to have uncomfortable conversations about race and how to approach it;
- vulnerable hot seat coaching with Natalie taking Andryanna through an initial conversation about race from her childhood;
- how to become aware of our own responses emotionally, psychologically and relationally to the concept of race, by using ourselves as the tool;
- how to slow down, get curious and take action by looking inwards to better bridge the gap on diversity, equity and inclusion.
